Combo of Fireplace and Oven
I wanted to send you a note to thank both of these guys for the informational materials and designs they provided to make this project a reality. Both of them provided easy to follow instructions and the ideas I needed to build this myself.
Dan, the fireplace is the modified Pima you drew up for me, then I changed it slightly by adding to the height of the chimney to be more in line with the height of the pizza oven.
Rado, I used your design but had to modify the footprint some to fit in the area I had available. No worries though, I can still fit a 16″ pizza in there and it cooks in 90 to 120 seconds every time. Even with 6 of us in the family I can stay ahead of the hungry mouths.
As you can probably see from the pictures I have used both already many times. It looks a lot better now than it did when it was all just concrete blocks but even then the family and friends enjoyed both structures immensely.
You two should really look at teaming up and see what you can do together! I was lucky to find both sites (Dan’s Backyard Flare, LLC in Tucson, Arizona) which made this really easy (but back breaking). Your help saved me thousands of dollars compared to having a contractor do it.
I also added an outdoor kitchen that is to the right of the picture but I am waiting until spring to put the counter top on it.
I will send you both more pictures when that is done and the weather looks better.
Feel free to use the pictures on your websites if you would like.
Thanks for everything.

Dan,
I am very happy you were pleased with our product. It really is important that our customers save money and at the same time have a great experience. Your structure looks great and I am interested in seeing additional photos also when the grill area is finished.
Thanks for the kudos sir. Have a great night.

Hi Dan T and Dan H,
It’s very nice to hear from you both! Stunning outdoor stone project, I bet it will be enjoyed heaps in various pleasing situations.
Many people actually ask me about how to make oven with fireplace next to it, like a combo of two appliances. Nice to meet you Mate.
With compliments.

Hi Guys, I have a small bungalow rental business at the beach in Baja California. I want to build a combination pizza oven and fireplace and I need design help. I built an horno (beehive cob) oven once before and it was fun and wonderful – got up to 600 degrees F – cooked a whole pig in 3 hours. I am interested in ideas for a pizza oven combined with a lovely spot to sit by a fireplace – could we fire the pizza oven from below in a big open fireplace, wood to heat the box? Seems we could do a offer, eh?
