Ground mosaic of bricks and tiles plus artistic oven with fireplace
I drew inspiration also from others’ work and it would be nice to pay it forward.
It works really well and stays hot for almost 2 days.
I’ve just 99 percent completed my oven fireplace and concrete work area. Obviously most was done to the “book” but I used some ingenuity where I could. I wouldn’t have been able to do it so successfully without your site, it’s been an immense help.
I have been using it mainly for roasts and sides but I’ve also done pizzas, meatballs, chicken wings and breads.
Cooked for 50 people on new years eve and it was a hit …. I was pumping out pizzas in 3 minutes a pop side by side …. and now directly cooking pizzas etc. on brick.
The construction was a challenge no doubt but I can see using it effectively is as much if not more a learning curve.
It operates really well in the sense that it gets hot and stays hot but its just such an agricultural way of cooking that ill enjoy for a long time because its tricky.
Barely warm to the touch on the outside after 8 hours of working and stays hot till the next eve with the door closed. Draws beautifully across the floor and the smoke catcher grabs all the smoke so as to not blacken the face of the structure.
(That last paragraph has a lot to do with you and your amazing website.
Cheers Paul.V from Adelaide….
