Guide to write better articles easier
Many people put off creative writing because they think it takes too long. Writing isn’t hard, it’s the sitting on the chair that’s causing the trouble. A lot easier is to come up with content on something you are familiar with and excited about. What you feel passionate about? What warms you up? How about to share your hobby with some one, not to mention the words you might well help to another person.
Article writing is generally divided into very easily manageable steps containing in order the article title, introduction, body, conclusion and if you choose so also your signature section and photos.
Body
Let’s start with how to go about the largest part, the article body. Using steps below can create beautiful writing, you will see your work grows fast:
- Step 1 –
- Pick a specific theme of your niche.
- Step 2 –
- List 5 interesting bullet points. Think of these as the skeleton of your article (or as thick branches of your apple tree – paragraphs.)
- Step 3 –
- Next pick one of the bullet points and write 2-3 related highlights for it.
- Step 4 –
- Then take one of the highlights at the time and add a few sentences to explain it. Think of this as populating your apple tree with leaves and apples.
- Step 5 –
- Do this 4 more times – with each bullet point.
So the bullet points represent body paragraphs. With the highlights you do not have to create sub-headings because they are already there. Whenever I write a lovely piece I use bullets or subheads to divide the text (they break it up to visually pleasing to the eye of readers.) After the nice aspect this has two other benefits; it makes the article easier to read, and it makes the article easier to write.
Depending on a topic, one whole page should have anywhere between 350 to 700 words or more. Let’s take an average page had 650 words; dividing that into 2 smaller paragraphs plus 5 paragraphs at 100 words each is easy. An intro of about 100 words with a conclusion of about 50 words will do. That leaves 500 words or 5 paragraphs for the body. (This paragraph, including this sentence in brackets, contains 75 words.)
Title
Hint for the searching reader. Article title should state in clear and captivating language what the whole article is about. By containing the main keyword(s) it should grab the reader’s attention.
- Bad title example:
- “Top And Best Way You Can Roast Turkey At Home!”
- Good title example rich in keywords:
- Turkey Roasting – Delicious Results Includes Brine Recipe
Introduction
Tell the reader what it is you will tell them, or what s/he is going to learn. Heading should be easily search-able and contain key words of the subject which the user is interested in. It needs to be brief however your intro must grab the reader’s attention or imagination, so be creative with every introduction. Readers usually read first 3 to 5 lines of the article before determining what the article is about so refine the article at start. It can contain a question, state some interesting fact or create a desire to learn or see more for a hobbyist.
Conclusion
Tell the reader what you told them above. Basically conclusion summarizes information given in the main body and ties all your thoughts together.
Pictures for article content
Accompanying photos within your writing, suitable for the article subject, are superb addition in visual perception sense. If a pictures tells more that 1000 words then why wouldn’t we share photos with others.
Signature box
Tell the reader about you. You can give them link to your site, email, or traditionaloven.com profile. You can even add some photo of you.
Mistakes to avoid in writing articles
- You shouldn’t start without some plan.
- Proof read, spell check before publishing your article.
- Don’t write too much/often about a third person.
- Don’t create long paragraphs; 100-150 words is great
- Don’t use big words.
- Keep the language of your article simple.
- Don’t repeat and state same stuff over and over.
This was a DIY guide to writing better articles easier in few easy steps. Write and create your work by adding content in stages, “as with branches on your apple tree” (seen as skeleton of your article), where each of the stages is small, and stage by stage the structure grows nicely.
- Only family friendly content is allowed.
- Entries must have text content, at least 350 or 1000+ words. It is highly recommended, if you want more traffic to your pages, to include more text. Longer article can be split into more pages easily.
- Posts must show some passion, logically.
- Only written by you, unique, nowhere else before posted content please.
- No copied content or images. For the first time, please email large photo files only.
- You are the originator, you choose what you will write about.
- Remember; interesting subjects and interesting posts return people to read your work again.
- If you intend to write on regular bases; you will have your own work area, media upload/storage, editing and submitting area.
