1st Photo Competition has ended.
Thank you very much to who participated and to all site's visitors who came over.
Results.
12 people aged between 23 to 65 were deciding who's photographs will win (I was excluded.) There was a good, involved, mostly non technical discussion going on about pictures and pictures were slided all around heaps of times - like 20 times.
The winning picture for the 'Nice Meal' category is the photo titled "Erica's First Pizza."
The winning picture for the 'Cute wood fired oven' category is the photo titled "Southwestern USA Desert Style Architecture Pizza Oven."
I am contacting winners in regards to post them their prizes, more details below. I am also contacting all others who didn't win this time but who got involved- I'd love to post to each of you the oven building CDrom and a fresh opening gmail account invitation (to open the account youraddress@gmail.com of your choice, google just distributed invites and so it was a good time to gladly receive them), sorry only 2 horseshoes for winners.

This was a first - test - competition. I'd like to run more kind of the same. Any SPONSORS to have fun with us (?), please come forward with an original prizes ideas, and of course terms to your cause, thank you very much, potentially!

'Lovely oven' and 'Nice meal'
photo competition.
Competition started on Mon. 15th of Nov. 2004 and will end on Fri. 24th of Dec. 2004.
What is this competition all about?
Contest has two categories, a 'Cute wood fired oven' picture and a 'Nice Meal' picture. Anybody should enter by emailing at least one photograph of a wood fired oven or one photograph of a meal or entering with up to 2 photographs in each category. Reason for this competition is to collect quality photographs for the site's gallery.
A few simple photo criteria.
Please include 3 to 5 words long title and 25 to 40 words long picture description with each photograph. For more visual ideas visit oven or meal galleries, links are up on the left.
Wood fired oven pictures, it doesn't have to be your own oven:
- This is NOT only about professionally looking structures, don't fret! Main focus is on cute, lovable, appealing, interesting oven picture wining hearts of judges and so gets the 3 prices.
- Email your picture sharp and in color.
- All pictures will be in an original dimension and file sizes as is the better quality or standard format in your digital camera (file size in Kb - up to 3Mb each - it prevents entering with copied images somewhere from the internet.)
- Pictures should not be manipulated/altered with a digital imaging software programs.
- Concentrate on capturing captivating atmosphere, or warm feeling effect radiating from your picture. There could be a model operating the oven, express wildly your imagination ;o)
Wood fired meal pictures:
- This is NOT only about meals done or arranged by a professional chef! Main focus is on an yummy looking, appealing meal picture in an interesting environment. One that wins hearts of judges and gets the prices.
- Email your picture sharp and in color.
- All pictures will be in an original dimension and file sizes as is the better quality or standard format in your digital camera (file size in Kb - up to 3Mb each - it prevents entering with copied images somewhere from the internet.)
- Pictures should not be manipulated/altered with a digital imaging software programs.
- Concentrate on capturing captivating atmosphere, or warm feeling effect radiating from your picture, a model can hold the dish. It could be a leg of lamb roasting inside or oven dome full of breads, express your own creative imagination ;o)
Who are these judges?
10 + people who are not professionals in these fields will be deciding.
They will slide show all pictures one by one and will have the time to repeat looking at all over and over again, as many times as they will need for proper conclusion! Mixture of people consisting of half ladies and half gentlemen. They are already looking forward to this neutral responsibility. Decisions will not be made spontaneously, it'll happen after contemplating conversation between them.

Each winner in each of these two categories will receive 3 modest and practical prizes!

you need to go into your own quality wood oven building project, advanced or it supports simpler easier versions. Whether
you have never lay a brick before or you may be an experienced builder
this tutorial will show you the lot in the refractory side of things or how to go about building brick walls. You will know ahead clearly what you will
be doing each building job day/stage and joining many people who used this building tutorial and prize it heaps!
Prize No 3. * Double good luck 'Horseshoe with
four leaf clover'. Terracotta clay plague 3D U shape
horseshoe with green glazed four leaf clover on. Suitable great
character ornament for hanging on your oven, symbolically saying
to you "I will protect you" thus your cooking will be right at all
times!

How do I receive my prizes?
You will not have to do practically anything. Results of this competition will be shown in the site's shout box on the 25th of December 2004 (shout box is up on the right hand side on site's pages). Gmail accounts logging details will be emailed to you and you can start to use it straight away (winner will log in into the account and change the password and other personal settings easy!) You can wait for results and ask for emailing it to your specific email address or I will email it to the email address used to send entry photographs. The building CDrom and the double good luck horseshoe will be posted by airmail (free of charge) to postal address of winner, again you can drop your address in with the entry photograph(s) or email it to me when the end results show on pages here.
