There was some manual excavation to be done
Because the ground behind the oven is quite high we dug some of it out then fitted the oven into the hill. Concrete blocks were used to keep all the soil behind the walls.

Title: Back to October 2003's building progress.
Description: I was fortunate to receive great help from my family members and friends. The whole project became a combined effort. I would go into again because the enjoyment we get from this finished product now, is well worth it.
