RENE’S OVEN with MOSAIC. All under roof.

Rene’s project in Seattle, Washington. U.S.A. He built this fabulous oven with mosaic within bricks in walls and he also roofed the whole area. Now he can use his oven and the entertaining area whole year round. No mater whether it is raining or snowing, the roof protects / covers the whole outdoor area behind their house. Rene has never held a brick prior this building project. Video on how to rotate pizza on hot firebricks for 2 minutes was created as well.

Foundations had to be altered

Rado, I have taken more pics from our firing last Sunday, all went well, just need to get used to temperatures and timings etc. With the images I have also written a short story of our bread / pizza oven, which you may or may not want to include. Foundations had to be altered to follow the elevated ground behind the oven, it may be of interest to some people. Here it is –

Oven with stone veneer under a covered patio

I was thinking about using the storage space under the hearth as another firing area to feed a pit both with stone veneer on. These ovens are some of the most highly rated in the nation. Initially I was thinking about a combo pizza oven / smoker each with veneer stone glued on. Use the space under oven as a fire box for a smoker to right hand side. Right side has metal top, grills under, counter weight to lift, and 2nd smokestack far right.

Modified nice structure, built lower and smaller.

To save money plus labor and time, Don from Plymouth, MN, U.S.A., built this backyard structure with some slight modifications. His oven is built lower with the hearth close to the ground by one cinder block height and, also, the foundation was created shorter by one cinder block in length which makes it by 16 inches shorter length measurement.

Making slab behind existing retaining wall

We built this oven on a new slab which was made behind an existing low retaining wall separating an entertaining – sitting area with the grass garden and land. We use our oven frequently for cooking of all sorts of meals one can think of plus baking. I also made a few pizza paddles cut out from plywood material which is very easy and fast to do.

We really enjoy the wood-fired oven and fire pit

Wood fired oven with built in lights. Next to the oven there is the nearly done fire-pit, we just need to find some suitable capstone for it. That has not stopped us though from using the fire pit ahead of finishing its making. My very first attempt with whole-wheat breads and rye breads went quite well! For making pizzas the temperature reading of the oven floor is 824 F degrees on the floor in the center. The pizza dough formula on this website is perfect.
