Lime in hearth slab and cladding

Lime is not readily accessible as a building material in Denmark, so just to be sure: It should be hydrated lime (i.e. calcium hydroxide)?
Hydrated lime seems to be commonly used for disinfection of stables etc. - so there shouldn't be any problem, if this can be used to mix in the concrete.
