Ash Slot

Hi Folks,
I was looking over the plans for the swishy oven and I never see where you cut out the hole for the ash slot.

I mean, I see where you build the form so when you pour the concrete it leaves a slot, but when do you cut a hole in the wonder-board? Or do you cut the hole first?
