Rado;
Had to come home today for some materials, so I have a question for my Guru. I think you know I took the oven down to the original hearth floor, I added 2 1/4' of sand and another course of firebrick. I made the sidewalls 7" high and am starting the 9" vault rise tomorrow morning.
My question is; can I put the old dome back on top of the new arch vault? Of course I would cover the arch with aluminum foil and clad it with concrete. There surely will be some spaces between the old dome and the new vault but it would save me re-insulating etc. Richard
