Thanks for the info. I am going to do a simple experiment this weekend. I have a thermo blanket normally used in slowing down cooling in welding processes. I will fire it again and do some pizza and bread while measuring the temp loss over time. I hope it will retain floor heat longer with the thermo blanket. I will probably need to reline the floor as you suggested. The morter mix I can buy premixed and I will add some more sand to reduce its strength. Does the insulation have to go on the outside or can it somehow be buried into the mortar. This blanket is fiberglass so I doubt I can use it except as an exterior cover. How can I get your cd or other offerings? This oven building is fun. regards
