If you used Portland cement and reinforced the slab well then it should be okay, many ovens are done just with Portland, it is already a bit refractory cement (cheaper cements have too much ash mixed in and is no good for concreting.) Firebricks take the strongest heat, but heat gradually soaks through the slab, good if insulated under too. r
