Granite as Firebrick

Hi
I have got a couple of slabs of granite that I am interested in using in a pizza oven/masonry stove combo.

Would the expansion / contraction cycles destroy it? Since the granite grew up in a volcano, would it withstand the heat?

If usable, would it make a good oven floor?
