Bob,
18" wide x 27" deep is quite small surface for wood fired oven but to make pizza on it is possible of course. You can get use to making pizza in smaller size oven. Firing; fire it up with larger fire wood pieces but change for thin wood towards end of heating up so only embers will remain when pizza goes in, shift embers onto walls and with this depth you will have space for pizza. Draw the lines somewhere on the floor and place pizza in to see where will embers fit (practical visionary hand.) And for baking or roasting with closed door it'll be fine. Give it a good mass for heat storage if needed for efficient long time stable temps holding and insulate better too because of the smaller size. Measure the height of your favorite roasting pot because for this surface the door can be lower and the vault too → accordingly kept at 63%.
