Firebrick cracks
From the WFO board
Posted by Giles
Hi Rado. I have received my 'B grade' firebricks from Darley Refractories and notice many of them have fine cracks running around the sides and some over the larger surfaces. I am not sure if they go all the way through the brick, I hope not. I expect some cosmetic damage as they are 'B' grade afterall but was wondering if they will split or peel when fired. I'd hate them to fall apart after what they cost. I nearly had to sell one of my kids to pay for them, with freight, GST etc. Do you have any experience with 'B grades'?
Has anyone else used 'B grade firebricks'?
Regards, Giles.
