Rotary Spit Mounting

I am thinking of adding a rotary spit (front to back) in my oven as I build it. Anyone have any good ideas on providing a mount in the rear of the oven in/on the firebrick to support the long meat skewer?
I am planning on using a split door with through hole and welded bracket for the other end.
