Thanks for the info. I have since constructed the walls and hearth of brick. The base is constructed of pudding stone which is found here in New Jersey. I was lucky enough to find a pile of this beautiful stone left from an old construction site and I will also finish the outside of the oven with this stone. I am not sure if I should try to construct a dome (This is my first oven) or if I should use one large or several smaller pieces of blue-stone for the ceiling.I appreciate any thoughts. The base of the cooking floor is 24 X 46 inches.
I would hate to do the work and have the ceiling crack and collapse. Thanks,
