Refractory Mortar or Refractory Cement and other dome questions.

I see references to both, refractory mortar and refractory cement. Which is better to use in between the bricks in the dome? How much is needed?
I assume the fireclay:sand mix below the firebricks is used for leveling the bricks?
I have a 10" wet saw here, I assume it would be to my advantage to cut and dry fit as many fire bricks as possible for a much longer life of my oven ?
