the door arch is 195mm at both of the lowest corner points, there are 8 bricks in the arch, and the corners of these bricks sit 2/3rds onto the supporting bricks. Total arch length approx (it's dark outside)505mm.
Bricks used standard 230x110 house brick, I picked an off white looking one with a high ring tone when hit with a hammer.
The oven sits on a large outside BBQ area, and I am trying to get a more traditional looking oven as well as lesson the impact of a chimney, so I don't really mind if the front bricks get that black look as long as the wood has enough air to burn.
Do you think it is a good idea to place chook wire into the concrete render as a support or would the heat cause to much movement?
