Dome measurements

Hello again!
I was wondering if there was some kind of ratio of dome height to base length? (in circles if I remember correctly it would be the diameter of the dome)
For example: if the base length/diameter of the oven is *** inches then the dome should be at least **** inches high.
Also I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on cob ovens. Or are they kind of Medieval ovens now that we have firebrick?
