Yes it makes sense it's good, and yes you can use this refractory mortar as they said to you. I will reply this weekend with more mainly on how you can use this mortar also in arches everywhere. Get only one bucket no need for too much mortar anyway. If you decide to use only premixed sold in buckets then there is no need for fireclay and Vs., both are fine. I use fireclay based mortar because clay is natural best refractory and costs nothing, also fireclay is used ingredient No.1 of any refractories company. Laterrrrr, r
