Vermiculite Vs Perlite

Thank you for your help Ed and Heidi. I also asked the same question to Alan Scott (author of The Breadbuilders) and he also confirmed it's OK to use Perlite instead of vermiculite for both the insulating slab and outside insulation.
He suggested the same thing (i.e. pouring loose Perlite between cladding and outside walls)
Do you know what the difference is in grades for Perlite?
